Responsible Conduct of Locally Elected Officials

Local Election Campaign Financing Act
The above act is the legislation that governs local government election campagin financing.  New rules regarding campaign financing have come into force for this election cycle.  It is imparative that all candidates understand what is required of them.

Local Government Act - Part 3
The Local Government Act is an important piece of legislation that addresses local government elections in Part 3 of the Act.

Village of Ashcroft Local Government Elections and Other Voting Procedures Bylaw No. 816, 2018 
All local governments conducting an election or an assent vote must pass a bylaw that will detail how the vote will be conducted.  Although many of the rules are defined in provincial legislation, some aspects of the voting process are defined by the local government though bylaw, such as additional voting dates, the number of nominators a candidate requires, etc.  Please review the above bylaw for items specific to Ashcroft.
